Programs and Files
Print 4 Essex work with files from most MAC and PC programs from simple word documents through to Quark and Indesign as well a host of other programs in between. So don’t worry what you are working from Print 4 Essex have the expertise and technology to work with your files.
Dimensions
It is important that we receive your file in the correct size. This is usually done in the document setup menu found under “File”.

For example if you are sending a business card 85mm x 55mm it will need to be sent to us as an 85mm x 55mm file.

Should your job print right to the edge of the page then please see our section on bleed below.

Bleed
After printing your job it will need to be trimmed to the correct size. Adding bleed to your document will ensure that any images which meet the edge of the page will not leave any white unprinted area around the document.
 
As you can see the bleed is the image which extends beyond the page
This needs to be at least 3mm
Colour settings
Getting the colour right with your job is very important; we need to ensure that your job is reproduced in the correct shade. To do this we ask where possible for you to specify a specific Pantone colour or send us a copy to match for colour.

Some Programs allow you to control the colour settings; these include QuarkXPress, PageMaker, Illustrator, Corel Draw, Photoshop and In Design.

Programs which do not allow you to control the colour settings but are popular with many clients are: Microsoft Publisher, Word, Excel and Power Point. If sending us a file in these formats we advise you to send us a copy to match to for colour.

File Formats
Once you have created your job and are sure it is the right size with bleed if applicable you are ready to send it to us.

PLEASE NOTE:
If sending by email or on disk please remember the following.
Include the document itself and all illustrations or images.
Include all fonts.

The best way to save your work is by saving as a High Res PDF with the fonts and images imbedded
